The reasonably priced Crown Point Beach Hotel is so close to the airport you could walk if you didn't have much luggage! At one end of Store Bay, this two-story complex features 24 one-bedroom units, 33 studio units, and 18 cabanas scattered over seven landscaped acres. All units have ocean views, kitchenettes, patios or balconies, television, and air-conditioning. Not fancy, but very functional, this hotel is a favorite with European families and tour groups who come to explore Tobago's rainforest mountains and relax on the white sand beach.
The Chart House Restaurant and Sundowners bar serve meals and snacks daily, and a meal plan is available with a room accommodation package. Sunset watching is spectacular from the bar and restaurant overlooking Store Bay. If you want to fix a few meals in your well-equipped room, a convenience store is located right on the property. A short walk in the neighborhood will take you to several other small stores.
Whether you're content to laze around the pool, sit and read on the beach under the shade of a palm tree, hike and birdwatch in the mountains, or explore the fantastic underwater world of Tobago, Crown Point is a good choice. A 3-minute taxi ride from Crown Point Airport, this location is in the heart of the busy West End. The capitol city of Scarborough is 20 minutes away. Rental cars and jeeps are available for daily or weekly rental and taxis are plentiful. Large grocery and department stores sell all sorts of goods in downtown Scarborough, so if you're planning on cooking your meals in, at least one trip into town will probably be necessary.
Recreational facilities include two tennis courts, the large pool, table tennis and shuffleboard. Weekly entertainment features local steel bands, jazz, and calypso music.
Just down the beach is a public area with an informal market and food vendors. A fun place to visit on the weekends to sample roti.
Families are welcome and there is plenty of space for play and the beach is just beyond the pool. The waves are usually pretty calm here, so children can play at the water's edge and swim in relative safety. Babysitting service is available. The Crown Point neighborhood is just a short walk away to try local restaurants, or visit other hotels.
